The See Me Ridin’, They Hatin’

Before this year, I had never rode in a limousine.  I didn’t go to prom, we went budget for our wedding, and I could just never talk Mark into renting one to drive us around in Las Vegas!  All that changed this year when a bunch of friends and I got together and rented a stretch SUV for an event we went to.  Yay, I’m a limo virgin no more!
For the first time I used My Minds Eye stamps from the Stella and Dot line, and I am in love!  Beautiful, clear, crisp images right out of the package.  Color me impressed.

Accountability Wednesday

Had a bit better week this week.  No eating out, back to counting points.  I wouldn’t say it was progress as much as course correction.  I am psyched though because Pure Barre is opening a studio next month around the corner from my house!  It’s a lot like the Barre Method I have on DVD, but in person.  I can’t wait until it opens.

Weight right now: 138.8

Exercise this week: yoga (1), Barre Method DVD (1)

Eating Obstacles: N/A

Upcoming Obstacles: Planning to splurge a little to celebrate the Fourth.  Aim to only splurge one day, not the entire 3 day weekend.

Ella’s Brand New Book

I ‘m really excited to share today that Ella Publishing has just released a new book, Scrapbooking Your Single Years by Stephanie Baxter.

I’ve been waiting on this one to come out since I heard about it earlier in the month.  Now I don’t know about you, but I used to be single, and I’ve got quite a few photos from that time.  I’ve also got lots of photos of Mark’s single years, and pictures of trips I’ve taken for work, which is kinda like being single.  This book is chock full of layouts and tips for getting your singleton days scrapped.  Because those memories are important too.

Weekly Accountability

Urm, let's just say this was not a good weekly weigh-in.  And I'm not really sure why. Really depressed today

Weight right now: 140.8
Exercise this week:  yoga (1), bike (15 min)
Eating Obstacles: Hives kept me from working out too much, but also from eating too much.
Upcoming Obstacles: None

Me and Guy on Paper

***Sewing machine update: it was $20…the tension would not work.  Back to the Goodwill with it.  But I’m in the market for a new one.  Any recommendations?***

Remember I told you I met Guy Fieri?  I couldn’t wait to get that memory on paper!  Had fun with some glittery paper, Jenni Bowlin, and some spray.

And now for something completely different

I should not be left home unsupervised.  Even when I don't feel well, I get antsy, and I shop to make myself feel better.  Monday when I was home with the HIVES (ugh - and I'm still here, by the way, but they're getting better) I took a little trip to the Goodwill, and came home with this prize:

I couldn't pass it up!  I've been inspired lately by the blogosphere to re-learn to sew and maybe make some of my own clothes.  At the very least, curtains and other home dec.  And the price was right.
Yup, 20 buckeroos.  And I guess its about a year younger than I am.

I went next door to Hancock Fabrics and bought a new needle and some awesome fabrics.  I intend on turning this

(darn iphone - those a pinks, not purples)

into this

I might need to visit here to pray for some help and patience

On another note, many thanks to the gals over at Practical Scrappers for featuring not one but two of my layouts this week:

Weekly Accountability: Hives Edition

Yes, I have hives right now, and they (and the Benedryl needed to contain them) are keeping me from working out and really eating according to my plan.  How did I get hives, you ask?  Well, we went to a wedding out of town this weekend.  It seems I am allergic to something in some hotel rooms -- I think it has something to do with the sheets or the detergent they wash them in.  Sometimes I don't break out, but sometimes I do, and I did this time.  Anybody else have this happen to them?

Weight right now: 138.8
Exercise this week: Bar Method (1)-- completed entire workout!, yoga (1)
Eating Obstacles: Ate out for the weekend trip, but not too bad.  Bought and ate way too many Trader Joe's salted dark chocolate almonds.
Upcoming Obstacles: Party Friday night.

No post today

Sorry, there won't be a new post today.  My allergies have taken over and I'm home sick.  I'll make it up to you later in the week.  Promise.

A big post for a little album

OK, fair warning – this is a really long post with a lot of pictures.  Just so you know.

A while back I came across Ali Edward’s newest self-paced class.  And lemme tell you, it is awesome!

AE_ScrapbookOnTheRoad_Promo

Even though Ali’s philosophy of actually scrapbooking during your trip didn’t really work for me, all of the techniques were perfect for a mini album of the Cozumel cruise.

I used chipboard to make my own chipboard covers and pages.  Thank goodness my sister has one of these bad boys and let me borrow it!  Probably my one mistake was underestimating the thickness of the completed book.  I had to make an emergency run to Hobby Lobby to pick up 1 1/2” binder rings.

I liked being able to incorporate memorabilia into the book. I always struggle with this in 12x12 layouts.

I had a lot of fun making this album.  I got to try all sorts of new techniques, and now I’m looking for reasons to make another one.

I’m not going to even attempt to list my supplies.  But if you see a paper or an element and you just have to know, just ask.  I might can remember!
